Vagharela Khakra


Spicy Crispy Namkeen Khakra... It will take only 5 minutes to cook... So let’s check it on... J


 Khakra is the favourite pastime snack at our home. They are light and healthy for breakfast. I heard about vagharela khakra from my sister in law and hence I just tried making something spicy and namkeen out of the plain old khakra.

Preparation time: 5 minutes

Cooking time: 5 minutes

What goes in it:
Khakra- ½ kg
Sesame seeds (Til)- 2 tbl spn
Curry leaves- 10-12 leaves/1 sprig
Green Chillies, cut into halves- 5-6 chillies
Chaat Masala- 1 tbl spn (I used homemade by Mommie)
Turmeric powder- 1 tbl spn
Red Chilli powder- ½ tbl spn
Oil- 2 tbl spn
Asafoetida (Hing)- ½ tbl spn

How did I make it:

Break khakra into small pieces.




Take a large pan and pour oil in it. Heat the oil to prepare it for sautéing.  Saute hing, curry leaves, green chillies for 1 minute. Put til and sauté it for 1 more minute.  Now put turmeric powder, red chilli powder and chaat masala and sauté for 1 minute.


Now put khakra in it and mix them all well.


  Serve it in a plate for morning breakfast or evening snack.
