Marie Biscuit Chocolate...


I have often heard about Marie Biscuits Chocolate but had never tried making it until yesterday. This was my first attempt to try something out of marie biscuit just for fun. And I realised that making Marie Biscuit Chocolate is easy and quick to make and extremely yummy to eat.  


Preparation time: 5 minutes

Cooking time: 10 minutes

What goes in it:
Marie Biscuit - 6 biscuits (I used Britannia Plain Marie Gold Biscuits)
Chocolate Slab- ½ piece of one horizontal bar (I used Morde dark compound)
Milk- 2 tbl spn
Cashew Powder, finely grinded- 3 tbl spn
Butter- ½ tbl spn

To make it look yummy:
Chocolate sprinklers- ½ cup

How did I make it:
First of all melt the chocolate slab. For this take a deep cooking pot with water in it. Let the water boil. Put the chocolate slab in a small cooking pot. And place that pot in the deep cooking pot.


Keep on stirring the slab and let the chocolate melt. Put some milk in it. Put finely grinded cashew powder. Stir it well.



After the chocolate slab melts completely and milk and cashew powder is mixed properly take it off the stove.

Meanwhile on a flat plate apply some butter generously to stack the biscuits on the plate. This will make the base firm.


Dip the marie biscuit in the melted chocolate and apply it properly on both the sides. Stack the biscuits one on another properly. Coat the marie biscuits log properly with melted chocolate.



Sprinkle some chocolate sprinklers on top off the log.

Let it refrigerate for about 2 hours.



Take it out and slice it as you want... It is delicious. Seriously try this, its chocolaty yumm...

Stuffed Vegetable Paratha...


Paratha is very common Indian food item. You have variety of paratha mentioned in hotel menu cards as well as prepared at home ranging from the most common aloo paratha to gobi paratha to mutter paratha and many more which I might not have heard also...  Well we at our home don’t make paratha’s too often but tonight paratha was on our dinner’s menu.  I obviously with the help of mom prepared mixed vegatble paratha  as at my home we are not very keen on eating only aloo paratha so thought of adding different veggie flavours to it...


Preparation time: 5 minutes to make the dough add 5 more minutes to shred cabbage and carrot. While you make dough and shred veggies, you can boil potatoes and cauliflower. Add another 10 minutes to prepare the stuffing.

Cooking time: 20 minutes

Makes: 5 parathas

What goes in to the stuffing:

Carrot, shredded- ½ cup
Cabbage, shredded- ½ cup
Potato, boiled- 1 big sized
Cauliflower florets, boiled- ½ cup
Onion, minced- 1 big sized
Lemon juice- 2 tbl spn
Salt to taste
Coriander leaves, chopped- ½ cup
Chilly, Ginger and Garlic paste- ¾ tbl spn

What goes in the dough:

Wheat flour- 2 cup
Ghee- 1 tbl spn
Water – about 1 glass

For cooking the paratha’s I used ghee.

How did I make it:

First of all make the dough in a wide bowl. In the wheat flour, put a little ghee and then keep on adding water little by little till the dough becomes soft (Foodies’ note don’t make the dough too soft) and pliable. Divide it into 10 portions and make rounds. Keep them aside.

Boil potato and cauliflower florets in a pressure cooker for 3-4 whistles. You can also add peas and French beans to it.

After done, drain off the water. Peel off the potato after it cools.

I used blender to mince the onions and remove the excess water from the minced onions by pressing it between two hands. This will keep the stuffing firm.

In a deep plate, mash potato & cauliflower.  Add onion, cabbage, carrot, coriander leaves, salt, chilli-garlic-ginger paste and lemon juice. Mix them all well. Divide the stuff into 5 equal parts.

Ingredients to make the stuffing

Stuffing mixed well
Roll the dough like you do for chapatti. Make two chapattis. Apply little water with finger on the sides of the chapatti on which you going to spread the stuffing. This will stick the two chapattis properly. Spread the prepared stuffing. And super impose the other chapatti.

Cook them on a tawa until both the sides turn golden brown.

And woh kehte haina garam garam parathe ko dhande dhande dahi ke saath khane ka maza hi kuch aur hai... I tried it and it really is... What do you guys have to say on this???

Bread Pizza...


Hot crispy baked bread with cheese and vegetable topping... Sounds mouth watering...

My mom loves bread pizza. We had left over of bread slices and it takes only 10 minutes to make a bread pizza when you have grated cheese and chopped vegetables ready. So thought to make bread pizza jisse mummy bhi khush and tummy bhi... J

Preparation Time: 20 minutes to cut the vegetables, boil the corn and shredding cheese. Add another 5 minutes to make the pizza toppings ready to be baked.

Baking Time: 10 minutes

Serves: 4

What goes into it:

Bread Slices- 8
Capsicum, chopped- 1 bowl
Onion, chopped - 1 bowl
Corn, boiled- 1 bowl
Cheese, grated - 1 bowl
Coriander leaves- 1 bowl
Pepper to sprinkle
Butter- 2 tbl spn
Tomato ketchup- 3 tbl spn
Pasta & Pizza sauce- 2 tbl spn (I used Fun Foods)

How did I make it:

To start the preparation I first chopped capsicum and onions into small pieces, then grated cheese, boiled corn in pressure cooker and left it to cool by draining off the water.

In a bowl put tomato ketchup and pasta & pizza sauce and mix them well.

Spread butter and the mixed sauce on the bread slices to form the pizza base.


Top up with capsicum, onions, corn and coriander leaves. Add over cheese on it. Sprinkle pepper. (Foodies’ Note: Cheese, Coriander and Pepper make a good combination... Try it...)

It is ready to be baked.


In the oven set the temperature to 2000 C and place the slices in it. Remove it once the cheese melts.


Serve it hot... 

You can also put pineapple in it. I guess many of you must have made this at home so do share your experience with me...

Jeera Cauliflower...

Today morning when I went in kitchen to see what vegetable is for the day, I found mom taking out cauliflower from the refrigerator. It was understood (between me & mom) that I had to prepare jeera cauliflower for lunch today. It looks delicious, smells delicious and again is easy to make...

Preparation time: Time you take to cut cauliflower into medium sized florets. I took 10 minutes.
Cooking time: 10 minutes
Serves: 4

What goes into the sabzi:


1 cauliflower
½ tbl spn oil
2 tbl spn full jeera seeds
1 tbl spn half crushed coriander seeds
½ cup coriander leaves
½ tbl spn turmeric powder
½ tbl spn red chiili powder
Salt to taste

How did I make it:

Mom has already had crushed coriander seeds and stored it. Incase you don’t, coriander seeds are easily available in any general store. And partially crush it in a blender.



Cut cauliflower into medium sized florets and boil cauliflower florets in a heavy bottomed pan adding about 1 cup of water. Boil it for about 5 minutes not more otherwise it will make florets mushy and we don’t need them to be over cooked.



Drain of the water and let it cool. This gives you time to do preparation for tempering.

Heat oil in the same pan for about 1 minute (this is an advice given by mom to reuse the vessels while cooking as it saves time, effort and water while washing).

Add jeera seeds, partially crushed coriander seeds and coriander leaves. Saute them for about 2 minutes on low flame.



Add on the boiled cauliflower florets, turmeric powder, red chilli powder and salt in it. To add gujju flavour to the sabzi I added jaggery to it. Mix them all well.



Let it cook properly by placing a lid on top of the pan and put about ½ glass water on the lid. This will take 5 minutes.

Open the lid and season generously.

Bread Chivda


I know I am a little late over sharing this recipe with you guys but because of no internet connection I am doing it today... 

Sunday is a family day and the evening is perfect time for having a family supper together over a cup of coffee or tea or milk. Don’t you think Sunday evenings would be more fun if we make a snack that is quickly cooked without much preparation...  
That is what I did yesterday evening, made Bread Chivda which is easy and quick to make as well as filling for tummy...

Preparation Time: 10 min
Cooking Time: 10 min
Serves: 2

What makes Bread Chivda:

1 Tomato, vertically sliced
1 Onion, vertically sliced
1 Capsicum, vertically sliced
8-10 slices of bread
Salt to taste
½ tbl spn turmeric powder
½ tbl spn red chilli powder

How did I make it:

Firstly cut tomato, onion & capsicum by keeping the vegetable upright and slicing it vertically downwards.


Also cut bread slices into square pieces.


Take a kadhai and pour little oil in it. Turn on the gas and let the oil heat for about 1 min. Put sliced vegetables in it.

Sauté on low flame for 2 minutes till onion turn light brown.  Put salt, turmeric powder & red chilli powder & sauté it for 1 minute.
Add bread pieces to it and mix well.


It is ready to serve after garnishing it with coriander leaves...

Bournvita Milk with Vanilla Ice-Cream...

We all have always tried garam garam pokodas in monsoons but have you ever tried cold milk with bournvita when it rains??? i just did that so... :)

What goes in it:
3/4th cup cold milk
1 tbl spn bournvita
Sugar as per your taste
1/2 scoop vanilla ice cream

Milk & Bournvita
What makes it look yummy: 
Chocolate sprinkles
Chocolate sauce 

How did I make it:
Take a glass of cold milk and pour it in a jar. Add bournvita and sugar in it. Blend it properly with the help of blender.
Pour it in a glass then top it with the vanilla ice cream. For garnishing use chocolate sprinkles and chocolate sauce.

Ready to Drink...

And its ready in less than 5 min....

Rava Sabudana Wada...

Was just wondering which recipe do I share with you guys...

Then thought had made yummy Rava Sabudana Wada they before yesterday so why not start with that..

What makes Rava Sabudana Wada:
1 cup Sabudana Wada
1 cup Rava
1 cup Curd
3-4 finely chopped Chillies
2-3 finely chopped Garlic Cloves
1 piece finely chopped Ginger
Chopped Coriander
1/2 tbl spn Cumin Seeds
Salt to taste
Rava Sabudana Wada just out of the frying pan... 

How is it made:

First of all I soaked the sabudana in water since morning so you will have to plan for this recipe from morning... Keep in mind- Put exactly 1 cup of water to 1 cup of sabudana.
Also soak rava in curd 3-4 hours before the preparation.
Then put sabudana in soaked rava. Mix them well. Put cumin seeds, chopped coriander, finely chopped chilli, garlic and ginger and add salt as per you taste. Mix it all well to form a batter.

Take a frying pan to deep fry the wada. Use fingers to drop the batter in the oil to form frittersDeep fry till they turn golden brown on from both the sides. Remove them on to a absorbent paper.

Serve yummy hot rava sabudana wada. I had it with ketchup. You can have it with green chutney or mint chutney...
